Experience
Technology strategy and architecture across AI, full-stack SaaS and mobile, for 100+ client projects in healthcare, retail, banking and enterprise.
Also serving: Dubai, UAE.
- Built the engineering organisation from the ground up and ran it through to the company’s acquisition in 2026, now leading the technology side of the transition.
- Lead an engineering team of up to 50, and 100+ engineers in total across the client portfolio, with the flagship platform alone carrying about $48M in annual client revenue, and own the client-facing side: demos, solutioning, budgets and delivery dates.
- Manage and coach the architects on Java and Node backends, iOS, Android and Flutter mobile, and Angular and React front ends, each owning design and delivery on their own track.
- Led an AI testing framework for a client: it reads test cases, writes and runs Playwright suites and fixes the bugs it finds, on Java services with a Python AI module and a front end moved from React to Angular. Moved its data layer off MongoDB onto PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis, shipped through self-hosted Jenkins to Azure and to on-premise AWS for medical clients.
- Prototyped a LangChain proof of concept for a healthcare client: face-ID sign-in, then an assistant on the user’s own face answering from their email and OneDrive, over OpenAI and a set of connected APIs, in both Node.js and Python.
- Own enterprise architecture across AI, cloud and full-stack, the standard all 100+ delivered projects are built against - documented C4-style and reviewed against the cloud well-architected pillars - and own the technical debt and modernization backlog, carrying the Angular estate from 11 through to 22 with the PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis upgrades underneath it.
- Hold the flagship client platform at 99.95%+ uptime, watched through Azure Monitor, Grafana and centralised ELK logging, and run Scrum-based delivery out of five countries - India, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Malaysia - against one architecture standard, on the same SLA, design reviews and release gates everywhere.
- Built the CI/CD behind the whole portfolio on self-hosted Jenkins, CircleCI and Azure DevOps, shipping containerised, cloud-native builds against the shared engineering standards, and cut release cadence from every 4 to 8 weeks down to weekly.
- Hired 200+ engineers over four years to staff 100+ client projects across India and the Gulf, screening around 5 candidates a day at peak.
Co-founded and led alongside the VAAS role.
Co-founded an AI healthtech startup and set its technology vision, architecture and roadmap, leading the engineering team and vendor partners across India and the UAE.
Also serving: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
- Designed the architecture behind Cliniqally: doctor and patient apps on both web and mobile, running in 10+ clinics, covering scheduling, records, prescriptions, billing and clinician-patient messaging.
- Built all 4 surfaces on one NestJS backend over PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with Redis caching the hot paths, Angular 11 through 14 on the web and Flutter on mobile.
- Set the release bar the Cliniqally apps shipped against on self-hosted Jenkins into Azure: every change reviewed before merge, 80%+ test coverage, shipping weekly.
- Took crash-free sessions from 10% to 90% and cut the defect rate to 5%.
- Built the company from the first line of code to its acquisition in 2026: a 30-person engineering team including the architects on each surface, plus vendor partners across India and the UAE.
- Replaced budgeted vendor spend with in-house build on the platform, freeing roughly 18 months of runway, and kept the investors current on where the technology budget went.
Advisory engagement, alongside the VAAS role.
Led digital transformation across a four-country operation, running a 25+ person IT function split between software and hardware in Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and India.
- Led a 25+ person IT operation across Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and India - 8 on software including 2 contractors, 7 on hardware, and the support staff behind both - and owned the Scrum call across all four regions for the hardware and software teams together.
- Cut procurement spend by at least $240K a month, about $2.9M a year, by running competitive multi-vendor bidding for hardware and software across all four regions.
- Ran the Muscat development team hands-on, writing code alongside them and reviewing every change before it merged, and travelled to each of the four sites to scope what it needed.
- Owned the hardware and software portfolio outright, from servers and endpoints through to licensing, plus every vendor relationship behind it.
- Moved every process off paper and onto systems built in-house, across all 4 offices, with a reporting hierarchy that stuck.
- Replaced walk-ups and phone chasing with digital request flows, which cut the support team’s load enough to move them onto work-sharing and a new testing function.
- Put AI note-taking into meetings, WRENCH SmartProject across every project, and Zoho low-code pipelines behind task and ticket monitoring.
Built enterprise systems for global clients: IoT platforms for an Australian telecom, ERP and internal apps for an auction group and a US financial-services firm, and internal AI/ML models.
- Delivered IoT platforms and R&D initiatives for Telstra, Australia’s largest telecom, including the Google Apigee API layer in front of them and device telemetry flowing through event-driven services on Azure Service Bus.
- Extended the ERP and internal tooling behind Pickles, Australia’s largest auctioneer.
- Rebuilt internal systems and ERP workflows for First American, a US title-insurance firm.
- Ran AI/ML model R&D for internal processes: built and tuned the models on SageMaker, written test-first and shipped as microservices on Azure.
- Maintained SonarCloud and ESLint standards with 80%+ automated test coverage, and ran the Jenkins pipelines and Kubernetes deployments behind the Telstra and First American platforms.
- Ran Scrum calls across several project teams alongside the delivery work, tracked in Jira across the Telstra and First American programmes.
Designed enterprise chatbots and internal applications for KPMG, wired into their core systems, built in Agile with Node.js, Angular, .NET and Azure.
- Built the chatbot layered over KPMG’s audit process, and maintained the flagship audit application behind it, rolled out across the KPMG group.
- Kept that application and the internal tools around it wired into the firm’s core systems, and migrated the front end off AngularJS 1.6/1.7 onto Angular 5 and then 6.
- Worked directly with Microsoft on the Bot Framework build behind the KPMG assistant.
- Collaborated directly with KPMG stakeholders to align delivery with business goals.
- Ran Scrum and day-to-day coordination for the onsite delivery team: sprint planning, standups and reviews.
- Ran the IoT lab, Orion’s own space for prototyping sensor and hardware ideas before they reached client work, and helped run the server deployments behind the client releases.
Led a team building AI-powered chatbot platforms with ML and NLP, owning code quality, version management, and technical hiring.
Also serving: San Francisco, California, USA.
- Architected AI chatbot platforms for 5 clients plus 3 internal production bots, reaching thousands of learners, spanning AIML, NLP, ontology, scikit-learn models and deep learning, with every model shipped as a Docker container onto Kubernetes.
- Migrated the whole estate of 80+ servers from AWS to Azure and ran it after, alongside a team of IIT interns; owned code quality and version control.
- Piloted YugabyteDB while it was still launching, against the PostgreSQL, Cassandra and Redis layer already under the bot platform.
- Ran technical recruitment end to end, from sourcing and screening to onboarding, and owned the hiring loop for the 50+ engineers who joined my own teams.
- Built the company’s internal tooling, including the messaging platform the whole company ran on.
Promoted twice in 31 months, from PHP Web Developer to Programmer to Lead Developer on the Innovation Team, delivering chatbots, voice skills, mobile apps and e-commerce serving 150,000+ daily visitors.
- Directed several delivery teams from the Innovation Team, held the review gate on what merged, and picked which emerging technologies Astro-Vision adopted.
- Architected 3 client chatbots plus Alexa and Google voice skills and cross-platform apps.
- Ran Astro-Vision’s consumer web platforms, Clickastro and Indian Astrology Software, serving 150,000+ daily visitors across 70+ services, on AWS servers I managed myself, with Redis holding the hot data in memory instead of hitting the database, plus A/B testing and SEO.
- Shipped iOS and Android apps exceeding 100,000 installs.
Took over the company websites, running A/B tests and SEO against the traffic they carried.
Built the e-commerce storefront front and back, with campaign landing pages and fixes to the internal CRM.
